Etta becomes Vogue’s Cover Girl Poem

Etta becomes Vogue’s Cover Girl Poem

Clip slop, clip slop, plop, plop, plop.

Etta the ‘clipper clopper’ dragged her feet,

Across the cobbled street.

Her nose was down,

As her coat was tired brown.

She fancied bold stripes and spots like her friends,

As they stand out, instead of always blending with the hens.

On seeing her face, the bee and giraffe pulled funny faces,

To make her laugh.

They then pulled out Vogue and pored over the pages,

Drinking in all which took them ages.

After which with help of the peacocks and ducks,

The air was filled with excited clucks.

The animals all grabbed paintbrushes and started to paint Etta

Which, caught the eye of fashion photographer ‘cheetah’,

‘Oh my’ said the cheetah, ‘we must call Anna Winter Owl,

RIGHT NOW.’

One month later and with ever changing coats,

Vogue’s cover horse never gloats.

Instead she hangs out with her old friends,

Creating all next season’s trends.
